Bootup, IRQL 2 and Usrbridg.exe problems
1. The machine hangs on restart, but will start properly if given time to ?cool? down. This happens whether the restart is deliberate or from a blue screen.
2. The computer reports an error after startup Usrbridg.exe The instruction at ?0x77e73d7d? referenced memory at ?0x0000080c?. The memory could not be written. The Error Signature comes up later with the following details: szAppName: usrbridg.exe szAppVer: 1.0.2.0 szModName: kernel32.dll szModVer: 5.1.2600.0 offset: 0005f974
3. Playing a certain big mpg file in Media Player 9 always results in a STOP 0x0A message on a blue screen. Details: IRQL-NOT-LESS-OR-EQUAL ??. STOP: 0x0000000A(0x00000000, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0x804E9E1
From details in Microsoft KB article 314063, there could be a problem with IRQ2. The Device Manager shows that there is no device assigned IRQ 2. Under my old Windows 98 computer, IRQ 2 was assigned to ?Programmable Interrupt Controller?. The Programmable Interrupt Controller is shown in the Device Manager as ?No driver files are required or have been loaded for this device?.
I suspect I need a BIOS upgrade. However, I feel there could be other solutions for some or all the three problems listed.
