Hi Bradley!

We are pleased to have you here. Is this a homework question? What courses are you taking?

Difference between Cron and Anacron.

by hostechs1 In reply to Bradley Witham

1. Cron job is scheduled by any normal user, whereas AnaCron is scheduled by only the Super/root user.
2. Cron executes tasks every minutes while Anacron runs a task once a day.
3. Cron is idle for the servers and Anacron is idle for servers as well as desktops.
4. Cron expects the system to be up and running wheres Anacron does not expect the system to be up and running all the time.
