Brain Fart – stuck NTS4 disk in NTWS4

by robert bynum . Updated 25 years ago

OK, I screwed up. I tried using an NT Server 4 disk to install Dial-up networking on an NT 4 Workstation.
When I realized my mistake I tried using a NTWS disk but it couldn’t read the RASCONF.dll file so I tried another NTWS disk and got the same error. Then I copied the i386 folder to the local hard drive and tried installing DUN from there but as soon as I specify the path to the file, the install windows instantly close. No progress bars, no pop-up saying if the install was successful or failed. Not a thing but just the desktop. (Nothing in Event viewer). When I tried installing from a network drive, the same thing happens as when I was installing it from the local hard drive. I applied SP6 HE and tried it again and the same thing happens.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
