Hi all,
I’m a Systems Engineer and have been tasked with building a new Domain (network) that will be riding on a new network ring. I have good knowledge and experience. However, what are some best practices for initially setting up a new Domain? I have about 100 users right now, and I need to prepare the Domain to move them over. This is a completely seperate domain so there will be no rolling over folks to the new domain. Everything is fresh and new from the start.
What I would like to know is tips in setting up Sites and OU’s. Creating fundamental logon.bat files. (roaming profiles will be used). I have created a template user to copy everyone with, using the %username% and have created a “home” drive for everyone to map to the Z: drive.
What are some other things I need to do? Right now we are not accredited, but will be in the future. Any tips are welcome.
