Brand New to SQL

I am looking for the best books or resources for a beginner in SQL. Any tips?

"SQL in a Nutshell", an O'Reilly Press book is an excellent addition as well. It lists the various command syntaxes for Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and a couple of other flavors. A very good syntax reference.

they all have some features not supported.
not always the same features either.
