Broadcast by phone autodialer

I recently purchased a multiline(2) autodialer from VoiceNT for $800.00. The device I purchased it for was old and after installing the product we discovered it had a hard failure on one of the modem slots on the motherboard. After many hours on the phone with their support team, they convinced me to purchase a new machine to run the product. So I did. Now they will not change the license from the original machine to the new one unless I buy an upgrade for an additional $300.00. They have told me that the only way they can issue a new license is if I send them the mother board from the old unit, virtually destroying the machine, because they use the internal serial number from the NIC card as part of their method for preventing piracy. I have told them to just delete the old license and create a new one with the new NIC card serial, however they refuse. They basically told us to sue them and started yelling at our technical representatives in some foreign language.

Is this customary in developing this type of software?

Has anyone else had this type of relationship with these people?

A lawsuit would cost thousands and obviously the relationship has dimished to total mutual mistrust.

Are there any other vendors that someone could recommend for this type of software?

We are very disappointed with VoiceNT and all we can say is Buyer Beware. The single line product works well, (which prompted us to purchase the multiline) but customer support stinks. They even explained that if you upgrade in a normal fashion to new hardware, they will not issue a license for the new hardware without another purchase of their software. That is ludicrous.
