Broadcom 1962 error message

By ben ·
Hello,
I'm running Windows Server 2003 on an IBM Server since 2005 with no issues. Today I could not access a retail POS app on the server so went to log in and nothing happened. I rebooted and get a Broadcom 1962 No operating system found error. When I rebooted with the Windows 2003 Server CD, I received an error message that it could not find the hard disk. Someone pointed me to the BIOS but I can't seem to see the order for the drives.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
B

Not a good sign

Particularly as you say you can't find hard drives in BIOS. Check your drive data and power cables to be sure, but it sounds as if the backplane chipset is bad and you've lost your drive controller.

What's the server model and drive interface type?

Definitely not a good sign

Thanks for your reply - appreciate your time. I got hold of certified tech through a friend who came over late last night to have a look. Turns out that you are correct. We'e running an IBM xSeries 226 with Broadcom NetXtreme. We've lost a little bit of data and a lot of time...
Thanks again for your response.

Could have been worse

Pray that you never have an IBM ServRaid controller die. NOT pretty.

BTW, I wasn't aware Broadcom made drive controllers...
