Brother HP 2040 Printer Paper Feed

By rwilson ·
This Brother HB 2040 Laser Printer just stopped feeding paper. There is plenty of paper, there are no paper jams, and oddly the manual feed works OK. Any help?
Thank you.

Bother or HP?
Could this be a Brother HL 2040?
Are there any of the indicator lights glowing or blinking?
It could be that there is a piece of paper stuck inside the machine somewhere. The Brother web site [ ] will give you more info. -d

For the Brother HL-2040 laser printer

by nepenthe0 In reply to Brother HP 2040 Printer P ...

you will find the User Manual at this link:

The Brother support site doesn't list a HB-2040 printer, so perhaps you made a typographical error.

On page 75 of the User Manual, there are some suggestions for resolving an automatic paper feed problem:

> If there is paper in the paper tray, make sure it is straight. If the paper is curled, you should straighten it before printing. Sometimes it is helpful to remove the paper, turn the stack over and put it back in the paper tray.

> Reduce the amount of paper in the paper tray, and then try again.

> Check that the manual feed mode is not selected in the printer driver.
