I had an old brother multifunction fax/copier/printer hooked up to my comcast modem via a hub that also held my phone line. Got a new Brother multifunction machine today and when I connected my fax line into the machine, it knocked out my digital phone line. Tried resetting, tried reconnecting, but the phone line is dead as long as the fax machine is connected to the hub. If I unplug the multifunction machine, the phone comes back on.
Any ideas as to why this happens?
