Browser Cleanser

By theword ·
Hi.
I have been getting alot of advertisements of these browser cleansers. They say, even if you clean the cache file and internet temp files and cookies....that you could go back and recover the internet sites you have visited.
1) Is that true2) What do they do...clean the registry
3) Is cleaning the temp files and cookies not enough?
4) Is it safe to use these programs

Thanks, Pat

Browser Cleanser

There are items stored in the registry, and several other files.

With IE, it is becomming harder and harder to manually clean the cache files.

I use the file cleaner function built into OnTrack Fix-It Suite.
It seas to catch everything that Iam aware of.

As with any software package, make sure that you are comfortable with who is offering it.
You can get similar utilities from McAfee and Norton.

For the most part, these packages are feeding on paranoia. You only need to clean things up, if you go to sites that would compromise your stature if anyone knew yhou went to them.
Also, if you do a lot of sensative work on-line such as stock trading, you might want a FULL security suite to protect yourself from prying eyes. (and fingers)
