My 2nd Win2K Domain controller has a problem keeping the I.E. 6.0.26 window open. It will bring up the default web page. As soon as I click on a new link, it chirps and closes. The only even in my System log (may not pertain) is Event 8032 Browser Error – occurs about 5 times per day (not while using the browser) and simply states that “the browser service has failed to retrieve the backup list too many times on tansport…” I tried rolling back to an earlier version of I.E. -didn’t work. I tried rolling back some of the MS Updates – started blue-screening and had to restore my server. Got everything back on line and my original problem returned. I’ve searched MS and haven’t found anything on the browser closing automatically. I have tons of disck space. I’ve tried moving the temp internet files to the other Hard drive., I’ve flushed everything including cookies – with no change in the results. I believe it is the result of a MS update, but don’t know which one or how to remove it without crashing the system again!
