Browser- to-MS Access DB interface

By genom27 ·
I would like to know how can I enable an HTML document (i.e. a form) interface with an Access DB? I would like to create a HTML form that can be used to remotely interact with the Access DB. This interaction would also include security features suchas varying levels of accessability, user names, and passwords via the web page. It should also prompt the user to ensure reliable data input.

look into php or cgi. standard html dosn't have the ability to qury a database, you need something that will execute on the server.

As far as HTML to Access, Frontpage has that capability built in. When the user clicks on the submit button, the information can be sent to a database. AS for security, the other guy was right. U need to check out some security s/w. Protect-It was aprogram that I used. It is cgi based and worked well.

With just a small edition to 1. and 2.:
The Frontpage building blocks use ASP (Active Server Pages), which in a 100% Microsoft world make more sense than CGI and PHP. ASP would be the mechanism to use, but security you need to add yourself...
