Browseui.DLL

By ksvijayb ·
Hi,
Windows 98 SE, Dell Inspiron 3500 notebook.
When my system is booted, I get thie error: "Explorer caused an invalid page fault in module Browseui.dll at 0167:7117dl7c."
This is exactly similar to Windows Q293174. But the thing is I am not able to find Internet Explorer in the "Add/Remove" to repair it.

Any idea to overcome this is much appreciated, as I have tons of data in it to be accessed and retrived.
Thanks.
VIJAY.

Are you using IE 5.0?

Near the bottom of the MS article, there's a note that suggests that if both potential resolutions fail, that you may need to resinatll Win98SE.

If I were you, I'd just try installing IE 5.5 on top of your current installation (...since the Add/Remove button is missing...) and see if that resolves the whole issue with Windows Explorer.

The word should have been "reinstall"... not "resinatll Win98SE"

Hi thanks for the comments. I managed by starting thro Progman.exe and open control appwiz.cpl and from there tried and installed IE 6 and changed the shell back to Explorer.exe and rebooted the system. It is working fine.
