Browsing Network

By pzhamilton ·
We are running a mixed 2000/98 network. The clients (9 cannot use network neighbourhood to browse for computers and shares. Some can but others can not and must map a network drive. What is happening here. Does it have anything to do with Browse Master on the Server2000 or is it a client setup?

Check the properties of the network neighborhood. Under identification, make sure the workgroup is properly set to a valid one and not the default.

if you are using TCP/IP besure each machine has it's own unique IP address & that they all have the same Subnet Mask. They usually wo'nt see each other unless they are on the same subnet.
