BSD back-up

By rick.philips ·
Is there an easy to use but effective utility I can use to make a complete drive image of a 2G drive running BSD Unix and one installed application. To be used in the event of a hard disk crash.

You can use dd utility. That will do a raw (sector by sector image) image of your hard disk. It is better that you put the obtained file on a secure media.
Attention : the dd command is device dipendent.

Thank you for your response. I am assuming that the dd utility is part of BSD Unix and the restore command is also part of the dd utility. If I am on the wrong track here, please let me know directly at 25249@svc.picker.com
Thanks Again!
