have you tried testing your memory? I mean run memory test which usually boot cds memory test, If in the first run and it fails then I suggest to replace your memory, I always encounter this problem and memory test is always my first solution to find out if memory is failing and need to be replace, update after testing your memory and whats the result of the test...

Is there anything in event viewer

You can test the memory by running Windows Memory Diagnostic that can be downloaded from here:

http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp.

If memory problems are found, try re-seating the RAM in different slots. If it doesn't work, replace the defective RAM.
Miss matched Memory, using different memory types will also cause this to happen.

By cleaning memory do you mean a RAM defragmenter, or do you mean cleaning contacts on the DIMMs?
