BSOD when opening a user’s my documents folder

by mnarewec . Updated 18 years, 2 months ago

OS: XP SP2
Hardware: Acer Laptop

A user got virus/spam that pops on the system tray “Your computer has been infected” message and when you click it leads to a webpage etc. Malicious Software Removal Tool and while scanning it causes BSOD on that user’s my document folder.

Everytime after that when I log on using that user logins I get that BSOD when it wants to load personal settings. Its so fast you can’t read it. However, when I log on using Administrator account I can go in succesfully.

Everytime,When I browse the the user’s my documents folder or the An Anti-virus scanner runs on that folder it causes that BSOD.

Please assist. What’s going on and how can I fix it.
