BSOD Windows 7

By PurpleSkys ·
now i think it was win32.sys (wasn't quite quick enough to catch that part) but...what is "page_fault_in_nonpage_area"? keep in mind, I'm not completely "techy"

i know, i was lazy, i admit it...for whatever reason, this has been ongoing with this pc pretty much from the get-go with windows 7 on it...there are moments when i think i should just put xp pro back on here and be done with, but i'm rather stubborn ... thank you muchly :)

Did that thing crash again after I left this AM?

by Darryl~ Moderator In reply to "blush"

It got hit with quite a few power bumps yesterday during the storm as we didn't shut them down.

Should probably do a chkdsk on it.

The Gulf Stream has a lot to answer for ...

by OldER Mycroft In reply to LOL - it's tracking towar ...

Most of the time it is responsible for the inordinately good weather we get, up here in the North of Scotland (laterally opposite Tain on the west coast, Ullapool has PALM TREES for gawd's sake !!)

Unfortunately the Gulf Stream is also heavingly efficient at delivering the stormy weather too.

I've not had any problems (bar one) with Windows 7 ..

by OldER Mycroft In reply to "blush"

And that's from the first day the RC was released - (long boring story but basically my XP Pro install disc refuses to install anymore, glitch in the I386 portion of the CD, I can't even install from a copy of it !!). So this particular machine would be up the swannie if it weren't for W7.

My only BSOD occurred because of the order in which I installed some updates - I elected to NOT install a couple of 'em and that's when the screen BLUED. Uninstalling back to that point and allowing them ALL to install, stopped the BSOD.

It'll all come out in the wash - I'll have to do a complete new install after October 22nd anyway. :)

We've had a lot of issues with that PC....

by Darryl~ Moderator In reply to I've not had any problems ...

We actually purchased it from someone that was fed up with all the problems they were having.

We thought we could solve it, and at one point I thought I had, but it seems to still have issues....mostly with Flash & things like that. IE8 crashes a lot.

I have a 5 cal Server 2003 license not in use right now (had it when we were running a small business). I hope to get Purple a new PC this fall & get another one set up for the kids (maybe 2....depends on what parts I can scrounge up) to keep them of ours....so I might see how this troublemaker reacts to being a server for a little home network.
