Buffalo/WNY Chapter of SIM

By greg_ross_sr ·
This message is for any WNY IT Managers out there.

I am part of a group of IT managers trying to help start up a WNY chapter of the Society of Information Management (SIM - www.simnet.org). I wanted to extend an invitation to you to join us for our first WNY SIM chapter meeting on Thursday, January 20, 2004. We have confirmed a speaker for our event. John Cole, the EVP and CIO for Pegasus Solutions, Inc and also the SIM VP for Chapter and Alliance Development, has volunteered to fly in to Buffalo for our event and give a brief presentation and answer any questions our potential members may have.

The goal of this meeting is to get some potential group members together to:

find out what SIM is all about
determine how this group can benefit us professionally
answer any questions the participants may have
determine the direction of the effort moving forward

The meeting will be held at 6pm on January 20th in the banquet facility at Danny?s South. The address is:

4300 Abbot Rd. (near Rich Stadium)

Orchard Park, NY 14127

Anyone who will be interested in the dinner can order when they arrive. There is no charge for the meeting (except everyone pays for their own dinner, which is very reasonably priced).

Please take a look at the following links to see what how other regional SIM groups are operating:

I know most of us have busy schedules in and out of the office, so we will make sure that any time you spend participating in any event related to SIM will be worth your time.

Also, if you know of any members of other IT leadership groups in the area who would like to find out more about SIM, or possibly partner with SIM (or vice versa), please feel free to invite them to attend.

I would sincerely appreciate if each one of you can bring at least one potential member to the event.

If you are interested, please respond to this email me:

I would appreciate if you could provide a list of name(s) of who will be attending (contact info is not necessary, I would just like to get a feel for who will be attending)
