Build a Netboot Disk for Win NT

The Windows NT Server CD-ROM contains a directory structure, located under the \CLIENTS directory, that contains Microsoft Network client software for MS-DOS. If I'm not mistaken it's in d:\CLIENTS\LANMAN.

Enjoy!

If you have access to an NT server, the easiest way to do this is to make a network boot disk using Network Client Administrator.

You won't find an option for the Compaq NIC, but you can build the disk using a common card (NE2000 or something like that) and then just copy the DOS drivers for your card to that floppy and update the system.ini and protocol.ini with the new driver name.

I'm Not to sure about the actuall driver for the card but you can find that on the compaq site (probably!) Here's a system.ini file.

filesharing=no
printsharing=noautologon=no
username=Administrator

reconnect=no
dospophotkey=N
lmlogon=1
logondomain=isher
preferredredir=basic
maxconnections=8
computername=test1
lanroot=A:\NET
[network drivers]
netcard=Your Network Card (Your network driver card i.e. elnk3.dos)
transport=ndishlp.sys,tcpdrv.dos,Nemm.dos
devdir=A:\NET
