builder.com in relation to techrepulic

By vortal1 ·
As a paying member of techrepublic can someone shed some light on the differences between it and the new builder.com?
I note that afew of the authors are ex-techrepublic so is the content going to be the same, or published across sites after afew months??
Basically will the free new builder.com downgrade the subscription based services on techrepublic??

As it stand now, no

As it stands now, TechRepublic and TechProGuild will have completely different content than will Builder. Since the Developer tab on TechRepublic effectively grew into the new Builder, the content that was on Developer is now here, so we don't open a completely empty site

Further clarification

As Lamont pointed out, Builder is the extension of the RFKAD (Republic formerly known as Developer). Like Developer Republic, the content and community features on Builder.com will be geared toward the enterprise developer.

TechRepublic will continue to focus on IT professionals (CIOs, IT Managers, Network Admins, Support Pros, and Consultants). TechProGuild will continue to be the premium, in-depth resource for Network Admins and Support Professionals.

So to answer your question, the expansion of Developer Republic into Builder.com will not dilute the value of your TechProGuild membership.

For those who do web development other enterprise development, don't forget the old http://buzz.builder.com where you can discuss anything web related, or just hang out in the Virtual Lunchroom.
