Building computer, won’t boot…

by xiviergaming . Updated 17 years, 9 months ago

I am putting together my own PC,I have all of the parts installed.

Now I go to turn on the pc, it starts, fans run etc…but nothing goes onto the monitor, even though the monitor turns on and then, as if it is not getting any other signal turns off.

I put the LCD Poster in the Motherboard….the codes I am getting are as follows:

DET DRAM
CHECK CPU
VGA BIOS

Looking in the manual now those say :

DET DRAM – Detect memory – Auto-detection of Dram size, type and ECC.
– Auto-detection of L2 cache

CHECK CPU – Detect CPU information including brand, type and CPU level (586 or 686)

VGA BIOS – Initialize VGA BIOS

Also, the RAM I have is incompatible with this new mobo. Would that hold it all down?

If not that, any other ideas?
