building my first PC..motherbroad connections

By liljoe690 ·
I am building a PC from scrap. I have a elitgroup P4M890T motherbroad installed in an Ultra Grid ATX mid-tower PC case.
The front panel connections are giving me problems. The wires are marked different then what is shown in the motherbroad manual. ideas?

Do educational guess, trial and error, that is.

Depending on the case, you should have:

2 wire leads:

These are the power and reset switches and the Hard Drive activity LED.

A 3 pin wide 2 wire lead is the power LED.

A 4 pin wide 2 wire lead is the speaker.

If the case has multiple single pin wires. These are apt to be USB 1.1 ports. They usually do not work well for USB 2.0

If you need more assistance, post a comment with either links to the manuals, or a list of the labels on the case connectors.

I figured it out by taking off the front face of case to see what the wires went to which switch.
