Burning CDs

By GJ2008 ·
Hi, I've burned some music files to CD in WAV format but they can only be played on some CD players and not others. I've tried a number of times and each time the result is the same. Is this the correct way to copy music files - in WAV format?

That actually won't work, you need to use a CD Burning software that makes audio CD's like Nero or Roxio. When you choose to make an audio CD, and select MP3 or WAV files, the software reformats the music to play in standard CD players.

Format is correct. Speed may not be. Try burning at 12X or slower. Many CD players have problems reading CD-Rs burned at higher speeds. Also use quality blank media, preferably audio rated CD-Rs. Do not use CD-RW media.

Even with the above, some CD players may not play them properly. Test play in a CD-ROM (not CD-RW) drive to ensure you got a good burn. CD-RW drives have stronger, more precise lasers than CD-ROM drives.
