I have a Toshiba Satellite laptop that I purchased in Feb 2007 (w/o an extended warranty). Last night laptop was running and suddenly came to a sudden halt. Computer would not respond to anything (i.e mouse, touchpad, power button). So, I pulled the battery so it would shut down. As soon as I tried to boot the laptop up it went straight to the bios screen where it prompted me for a password. I never set a password and it will not accept anything that I have tried to use. I am wondering if my hard drive self-destructed or if I have a more serious issue at hand…Any help would be appreciated!
