Understand STL error messages easier:

The Feb. 10, C++ TechMail discusses deciphering STL error messages. How do you handle compile time errors in your application development? Do you think STLFilt, an STL error message decryptor for C++, can help you? Do you have a better method? Tell us about it.

A great tool!

I've been using STLFilt for several months now, since I first heard about it on Scott Meyers email newsletter. Its been a great help! Not perfect, but about the best that can be done outside of the compiler.

It seems to me that the "right" way to deal with this is for the compiler to use the typedefs it already knows about in its error and warning messages. No telling when that will happen.
