While troubleshooting a variety of sporadic problems in a lab, I noticed a variety of cable terminations. Some were type A, some type B, three others were not a standard type at all. Further inspection revealed the wall mounts to be type A going to the switch with type B patch cables from the PC to the wall mount box. Our system mostly uses type B but some older configs are type A. Could this be a sufficient cause for random, otherwise unexplainable timing and data errors in using lab programs? Input appreciated.
