Cable modem connection and MS PPTP

By jeff ·
We are attempting to provide several of our remote cable modem workers with secure internet access to our LAN. We have a Windows NT 4.0 RAS(PPTP) server as the VPN gateway and MS PPTP installed on the clients.
The problem I am having is that when the cable modem users connect the login script on the RAS server isn't running to map the users network drives. When we do a regular dial up, however, it works. Can anyone give me some insight on this?

Cable modem connection and MS PPTP

after connecting via vpn, have the client machines join the domain(non nt) and/or have the client machines added to the domain, also have the non nt machines configured to use user profiles, when they login to their machine it will throw an error about the domain controller not being avail (non nt) but will let them in..when they connect via vpn the scripts will run..etc...nt users can have the vpn dial with the login dialog (use ras to login), or select the local machine for the domain to not connect to the domain.
thank you for the post! jer
