Cable Modem & DHCP

by california dead head . Updated 24 years, 5 months ago

I have 3 workstations on a workgroup. One is W’98 and 2 are W2K pro. I have a cable modem. I set the workstations for DHCP obtain IP automatically. If I set it up a static IP the Modem doesn’t like it and won’t let you on the internet. The Problem is the modem gives out IP address on different subnets so my workgroup cannot file or print share. I can’t do Internet Connection Sharing because the “Server” computer for ICS needs to be a static I.P. Any cable modem guru’s out there.
