Hiya folks. Quickie.
I have myself a little network of 3 computers (nt server, 2000pro, and win98) that was hooked up into a netopia router/hub. Had my own intranet with ip addresses on my comps 192.168.1.2 (3 and 4)and of course 192.158.1.1 being my gateway (router). Fine and dandy.
ANyway, got rid of the sDSL line and upgraded to a cable modem. Cheaper and FASter.
I just got my cable modem installed (actually recorded a 2.0 meg/sec download WOW) BUT now i am forced to make my 2000 machine recieve an IP address from THIER DHCP server and i have to disconnect my server and 98 machine from the network so they dont grab the IP address.
Can I make my router use that DHCP server to grab the address and just have everything on my side of the router just use 192.168 addresses?
Quite a few people have asked me this question but I havent been able to answer it. Now i am in the same predicament. Blah.
thanks for the help.
