Caching only DNS Windows 2003.

By robert.harris ·
Hi Guru's

Silly question here.

Can you install a DNS caching only server on a AD DC without recieving any DNS replicated data ?

I have two DNS AD intergrated DNS servers - The replication scope is "Replicate to all DNS servers in the Active Domain" when I install DNS server at a remote site as a caching only server it receives the primary zones?

Not Necessary, becsuse

a. Cacheing only DNS server is not configured to load any Zones and also not authoritative for a particular domain ,They are DNS servers that build a local server Cache of names learned while performing recursive queries
