When I plugged my digital camera or flash card reader into the USB port a window wizard (Removable Disk E:) would pop up and display options. You could transfer pictures to a folder, do a slide show, print the pictures etc. It no longer shows up or displays the removable drive on "My Computer". I've removed the USB in device manager and let it discover but still no change. Any Ideas???

Go to the c:\windows\inf folder. This is a hidden follder so you might have to go to Tools/folder options/view and select "show hidden files and folders". In this folder look for files that look like this OEMxx.INF, where xx ia a number anywhere from 01 to whatever. You have to open these files one by one and look for the one with the manufacturing name of your camera. Delete this file unplug the camera. restart the system then plug the camera back in and the OS should start the wizard to install the driver. Just follow the normal install procedure for the camera and you should be OK...
Thanks Parbo. Found the oemXX.PNF none with .INF . There were 20 files that related to my camera brand but couldn't decipher the model. Changed them all to oemXX.PNF.1 and rebooted, still no change.
I found the problem awhile ago and thought I should update this. Good old XP assigned a drive letter that was the same as one of my mapped drives. I had to go into Admin tools>Computer Management>Disk Management and assign it a different drive letter and all is well again. Same things happens on occasion with my USB JumpDrives.
