Can 32-BIT OS be installed on a machine with 64-BIT OS?

By immak10 ·
I have a laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium 64-BIT. I have been offered Windows 7 Home Premium 32-BIT for free.

Would it be wise to install 32-BIT OS in place of 64-BIT OS?
OR
Is it possible to have both; 32-BIT OS and 64-BIT OS on my machine at the same time?

Probably not as any 32 Bit OS can not use more than 3.2 GIG of RAM and that includes Video RAM.

Yes this is quite possible all you need do is resize the Partition on the NB HDD and install the 32 Bit 7 to the vacant space.

As to how you do this it depends on what software you have. If you have Partition magic you can use that but if you don't you can use GParted available free here

http://gparted.sourceforge.net/download.php

But you will need to Baby Sit the 7 install as you'll be prompted which OS to load when the system reboots so you'll need to select the 7 OS to complete the Install and you may need to get the 7 Drivers for it if you don't already have them.

But first you should use the 7 Upgrade Adviser to confirm that your NB will work with 7. It's available from M$ as a Download here

Why not.?

Its very simple by Hard disk partition, you need to allocate required spaces for both OS. You should use separate Drive to each OS.
Ex:: C:> for 32-bit

> for 64-bit

How is this possible on a NB?

OK so it is desirably but in this case it's not possible.
