Can a button text on a toolbar be update?

By anthony_hernandez ·
I've been developing macros for both MS Word 2003 and WP X3.

What I'm trying to accomplish is updating a button text on a custom toolbar.

Example:

Using VB in MS Word, I was able to update the text of a desired button to any text label I want using the following command;

CommandBars("MyToolBar".Controls.Item(1).Caption = NewLabel

Where "NewLabel" is the text defining the current directory.
The intention is to help my users by displaying the current directory they are in. This is displayed on the toolbar button text location.

I am trying to accomplish this task in WP X3 environment. I have yet seen or found anyway to update a text button on a custom toolbar using perfectscript?

Have you done this or can help me find out if it is possible.

One solution for me is to update WP X3 standard to professional an us my VB macros.... I would prefer not doing that because of cost constriants...

Thanks for you help,

Tony

Cost constraints? I think VB is built into WP anymore. The methods and properties are a bit different in the WP object than the Word object. It has been a couple of years (using WP11) but I am 95% sure that was what I was using.
Check wpuniverse.com, I think they have some suggestions and samples.
