Can Access XP do macros?

By bayman ·
I have a ASCII file that I want to import into AccessXP on a monthly basis. I used to copy the file and create a linked table to it. Since you can edit the table, I want to just import the data. The problem is that I need to make this a "no brainer" because you have to manually edit the line breaks for each column (as well as not import a few). Is there a way of automating this with a feature (like a Macro) or must someone manually do it every month? I am not a pro at Access.

Yes, Go to the Macros tab on the database and start a new macro. In the action choose transfer text. You will need to fill in the particulars of the file. You can then create a button to execute the macro.
