Can dual nics on MS Server be combined?

Hi,
I’ve read that it might be possible to configure a server so that two NIC cards can be joined as a single logical NIC card. This would mean that we could double the throughput of bandwidth heavy servers.
Please help me know how they can do it. What software or hardware need? or what theory for this. Thanks

  you need a dual-nic or a pair of nics which have drivers that support this.
