can favorites folder be undeleted

one of my technologically challenged users has deleted his favorites folder in outlook express, does anyone know of a method to recover it??

Oops. That's one I've never run into before, so I don't know what happens when a user does this. try checking the Recycle Bin, though, just in case the file (Outlook Express folders are actually files with a .dbx extension) is in there and it hasn't been emptied yet. If you find a .dbx file that looks right, select it and restore it. You may have to repair the folders afterwards. I'm told that (and am about to try it myself) if you delete the Folders.dbx file from the OE area, it will attempt to rebuild it from the other .dbx files it finds. As always, when trying something experimental, back up everything first!

did that first.. when he deleted it also emptied deleted items folder when exiting email.. was'nt in regular trashbin eiter

Hi

Did he delete the folder or did he hit the x at the top of the folder and removed that folder from "view" ???

already tried to recover files but he had flag set to empty deleted items folder on exit.. tried looking in windows trashbin.. no-go there either.. since can't find the magic fairy dust i'm writing this one off and closing question..
