Can I connect a Laptop hard drive (Not 2.5") to IDE

By bhouchin ·
I have a Laptop hard drive(Not 2.5") that I am trying connect to an IDE cable to recover some files. This is from a Sony Vaio that is about 13 months old. I have the adapter to connect to the 2.5" laptop drives and am familiar with the process, but I have no clue how the new drives can be hooked up or what they are called. Anyone know?

This is a tech. problem, in search of a solution.

It properly belongs in "Technical Q&A," not in "Discussions."

Please re-post there.

Thank you.
