Can I connect a Laptop hard drive (Not 2.5″) to IDE

I have a Laptop hard drive(Not 2.5″) that I am trying connect to an IDE cable to recover some files. This is from a Sony Vaio that is about 13 months old. I have the adapter to connect to the 2.5″ laptop drives and am familiar with the process, but I have no clue how the new drives can be hooked up or what they are called. Anyone know?

    they are the small memory sized drives arent they? yes im sur eyou can hook them up, you just need an adapter that will fit 🙂
