Can I connect to Internet using wireless access point without a WAN port

by missmorales . Updated 18 years, 6 months ago

Is it possible to connect to the internet using a Linksys WAP (model WAP54G) that does not have a wan or internet port. I have 2 computers (1 desktop & 1 laptop) networked together using a Linksys 5 port switch (model EZXS55W) and ethernet cables. Can share the internet and everything works fine when I use the cables, but when I connect the access point to the switch, and add a Linksys compact wireless-g usb adapter to the laptop I can only connect with the AP not the internet. I don’t want to buy a broadband router if I don’t have to.
