Can I Run Microsoft Windows on ChromeOS

I have a Chromebook running ChromeOS, and I want to know if it is possible to run Microsoft Windows on it. I would like to use Windows applications that are not available on ChromeOS.

Can Windows be installed directly on a Chromebook, or is there another way to run it, such as using a virtual machine, remote desktop, or another method? I would also like to know what hardware requirements I should check before trying it and whether installing Windows could affect my Chromebook’s performance or warranty.
