Can I set up Raid without a Floppy?

By johnmirick ·
I'm trying to install windows 2000 server on my server. During the install I press F6 to load the raid drivers. the windows install then asks me to put insert the floppy with the drivers in the A drive.

I have no A drive. How can I get around this?

Raid setup

by FlyCaster In reply to Can I set up Raid without ...

Hi,

I presume you have a raid controller in your system that can be configured by invoking the (usually) built in setup utility.
There you can configure your raid set.

If you have done this, your raid set will be seen by the os as a normal disk and is oblivious of the fact that it is a raid set.
That is if the os recognizes your raid controller.
If you use an industry standard this is the case and if not ... you need to load the driver set at install time with ... a floppy.

Hope this helps,

Peter.
