Can I share a hard drive between 32 bit XP / 64 bit Vista?

My 32 bit XP desktop is plugged into a Netgear WGR614 v5 router, I just bought a 63 bit Vista Home Premium laptop which uses the Netgear thru a wireless port. The desktop has been the only PC using the router since my kids left fr college. So no network has been defined. I used to share a printer with a daughter thru the router and MS OneCare, but it says I can’t share the printer between 32 bit and 64 bit PCs.

Can I share an external hard driver between the systems? I was told Iomega has a Hard Drive with a built in hub that might allow me to do this, but I’m on unfamiliar ground. How can I do this (or can I)?
