Can I upgrade from W2K Server to XP Pro?

I have a system running W2K Advanced Server, but really do not need the server OS. I would like to ‘upgrade’ to XP Professional while retaining the currently installed applications. Any suggestions on how I can do it? The installation CD does not seem to support this.
