I have built my first computer and have tried to install XP on it [yes, it is a legal copy]. The computer has a DVD drive that is set to master and is on the end of the ribbon cable.The BIOS detects the DVD drive and it is set first in the boot order. The DVD light comes on when the computer boots up and when the cd is inserted into the drive, the drive sounds like it is spinning but I get an error saying the boot disk was not found and to check the cables. I have checked the cables several times.
Is there anything I may have forgotten?
