Can not ping clients with Checkpoint1 SecureClient Installed

by veggiebob1 . Updated 17 years, 8 months ago

I have about 12 clients in my LAN that have Checkpoint VPN1 SecureClient installed on their Windows XP SP3 systems. We connect to a clients site and I needed to install the mentioned SecureClient software.

I recently updated my Symantec software to SEP 11.0, on the mentioned systems I can not push out/deploy the software to their desktops, I tried to ping their IP and hostnames and no good, I also stopped the client on their desktops, that did not help. The windows XP SP2 firewall is not the problem, it’s the checkPoint.

I checked the CheckPoint firewall to see if there are exceptions i can add like the MS firewall – put in port numbers Symantec suggested must be opened, but no are to put in port/exceptions.

Anyone have this problem where the CheckPoint Client causes software to not be deployed, and how did you resolve ?

I had to do old fashioned “sneaker net” – to install directly from their desktops, but would prefer to not do so.

Thanks,
Bob
