Damn !!! That’s a good one. I had to read the question because of the wild subject line, how bizarre. I looked all over Deja.com’s newsgroups as well as the MS2000 knowlegebase and can’t see anything specific. There must be file access restrictions somewhere that are being missed. Is there ANY other info you can offer? I would like to figure this one out. 😛

This is a long shot (and not my forte), but if you always boot the computers up on Monday (or the same day every week), then maybe it is due to the IP address assignment. Some routers (i.e. DHCP) place a time frame on how long the IP is assigned. After the time is up, they “expire”. Way back I had an SMC router that once and a great while gave me this trouble with my cable modem connection (if I left everything turned on for several days in a row). If you are using a router, or what ever device assigns your IP’s, see if it details this.

      Good luck!

Sounds to me like an IPSec policy. And just to clarify and make sure our definitions are the same – these PCs are connected to the same physical network?

      Suggestions:

Make sure in your Local Security Policy settings, none of the IPSec policiesare assigned.

If this doesn’t work, try running compatws.inf from Security Analysis and Configuration.

It’s definately in your security policy somewhere.
