Can not see list of network printers

By Dalwinder Randhawa ·
I have ser 2003 domain controler which is also my print server, two days ago I renamed user's ID (In AD), and now the user can not print, but he can use other network resources, like network drives. he can not even see the list of network printers in the add printer wizard, but he can do this when he logs on to diffrent PC, and I can do this when I log on to his PC. this is smthing his PC and his profile. I have renamed the user ID back to old one, but still same problem...the workstation is XP SP2.
Any Idea?????

Make sure that the user have access to print to the server, check the settings on the computer logon as local admin or domain admin add the printers for all users then have the user log back onto the machine in question he should be able to print, to check if this is a profile error rename the profile username to username.old and have him logon see if that helps also.

Sounds like a corrupted profile.

How to copy data from a corrupted user profile to a new profile in Windows XP

If you don't want to mess with the account id, copy the users local profile directory and then delete the original profile.

When the user logs in , windows will recreate the profile. You can then retreive and user data such as My Documents (shouldn't be anything in there for a domain user, they should be using network storage)Favorites, etc.
