Can Office XP be imaged?

By rpdomingue ·
I have 4 new computers we purchased from DELL (all specs are the same). I want to run the Sysprep utility on these WinXP workstations and get them out to my users pretty quickly. However, I have a dilemma. The new PCs came bundled with MS Office XP.I'm nearly finished installing & activating all our necessary programs on the first workstation (except for Office XP). My basically my question is . . . Can I image Office XP? I know I can but will this create an error message when I setup the other 3 workstations after loading the ghost image?

And just to clarify, I have 4 Office XP licenses . . . 1 for each CPU. I believe I heard that if I activate & register the Office XP software on the first computer (the one I?m getting the ghost image off of), then I CANNOT use it on the other workstations to be imaged . . . will receive an error message? Am I following this correctly? Thanks again!

You are following perfectly.

Do not activate and register Office XP on your image UNLESS you are using a volume license cd of Office XP....

Because you do not have a volume license cd of Office XP, you will need to do the image before Office XP. The install of Office XP will need to be done four separate times in your case. Sorry.

Not correct. Please read above. You must first image before you can register and/or activate MS Office.
