Can send email but not a TEST email

I have finally gotten my Outlook to bring down email from my verizon yahoo email account.

I can also send New email & reply to an existing email. (At one point I could not do the latter). Yet, when I try to test the connection, the sending of the test email always fails.

I know I should not look a gift horse in the mouth but why might this be?
