for a HP lazerjet 3050, i’ve been refilling my print cartridge with black toner – 4 or 5 times to date successfully. every 3 months or so. 2,000 to 3,000 copies.

today, when i tried to unload spent toner, very little came out. almost nothing. where usually i get a lot. when i tried to refill, it would take little new toner.

can the toner get clogged instead of passing from feed to waste material? would that result in half a printed page or less?

by the way, the print copy that prompted this refill showed half the page blank… i DID NOT get the usual message when toner is used up of NO CARTRIDGE..

Sounds as if the Cartridge needs replacing here

These have parts with a Limited Life like the Drum in them so you can not continue to refill them indefinitely. You do need to replace the Cartridge after every third refill which is what is generally recommended.
